Even the best waterproofing system relies on effective water management. Pumping systems are the heart of any Type C cavity drain waterproofing, ensuring that collected water is safely removed from the property before it can rise or cause damage.
The Pumping System
In a Type C cavity drain system, groundwater is carefully managed and redirected away from the interior to keep the structure permanently dry.
Behind the internal finishes, a cavity membrane allows moisture to travel freely down to the perimeter drainage channels, which are installed discreetly around the base of the walls and across the floor junctions.
These channels guide the collected water into a sump chamber, positioned at the lowest point of the structure. Within this chamber, submersible pumps automatically remove the water through a discharge pipe, safely diverting it to an external drain or soakaway.
